The Faculty of Sociology, working group "Sociology of Transnationalisation and Social Anthropology" (Prof. Antje Missbach, PhD)
The Faculty of Sociology is one of the largest social science research and teaching institutions in Germany and in Europe. The Faculty hosts a number of disciplines and subjects. In addition to General Sociology and several specialised sociologies, Political Science and Social Anthropology as well as Social Sciences (as an interdisciplinary combination of Sociology, Political Science and Economics) are represented in the teaching and research at the Faculty.
Section 6, where the new staff member will be located, consists of two working groups, 'Sociology of Transnationalisation' and 'Social Anthropology'. The research interests in Section 6 focus on the study of political, social and legal factors that shape mobility and transregional flows, and in particular the inequalities that characterise contemporary migration and border regimes worldwide.
- collaboration in research of the working group and independent research in the field of Forced Displacement and Maritime Migration (70 %)
- preparation and implementation of courses in degree programmes of the Faculty of Sociology. Teaching to the extent of 2,3 LVS (20 %)
- collaboration in the working group and academic self-administration, including organisational and administrative tasks and Committee work (10 %)
