Research Position (m/f/d) (PhD student)

Your Tasks
- scientific research in the area of group theory, in particular measured group theory, geometric group theory and structure theory of locally compact groups (65 %)
- contribution to the faculty's teaching activities to the extent of 3 LVS (25 %)
- collaboration in the academic self-administration and general university administration (10 %)
Employment is conducive to scientific qualification. The possibility to pursue a PhD degree is given and desired.

Your Profile
We expect
- completed scientific university degree (e. g. Master's or Diploma) in mathematics or a subject related to mathematics
- german language skills, both written and spoken sufficient to teach courses in German, or the ability and willingness to acquire willingness to acquire such skills
- good knowledge of spoken and written English
- the ability to communicate mathematics clearly
- persistence, ceativity and imagination
- independent, self-reliant and dedicated style of work
- ability to cooperate and to work in a team
Preferred experience and skills
- research experience in group theory or a related field
